Does your digital marketing agency actually care about your brand?

By Nine Hive Digital

You hired a marketing agency to take over your digital marketing. That’s fantastic. It shows that you care about conducting your marketing the right way and use expert experience. But does your marketing agency that you hired truly care about your and your brand’s needs?

While talking to businesses, the major pain point I’ve heard over and over again is that they feel as if they’re in the backburner at the agency that they hired. Work isn’t being completed on time and emails are not being answered within a reasonable time. I’ve constantly heard stories that these agencies are attentive to their clients’ needs in the beginning, but feel into a pattern of pushing their clients to the back of the queue over time.

This is the case with a lot of agencies now.

Once they get comfortable with knowing that a client will stay with them, they become complacent. The work they do isn’t special and unique to the client, and they don’t present any new and bold ideas to the table. And this is how your brand gets mediocre. This is what happens with bigger agencies, as they have too many clients to provide proper attention and care.

We’ve heard these stories time and time again, in which companies get too large to stay innovative and attentive to their clients’ needs. They lose the agility to pivot to new trends and market trajectories because it takes much more effort to steer the shift around.

I remember that I had a few terrible experiences with a large sized internet service provider. After this, my views towards the larger ISP’s turned sour, so I went searching for a smaller company that would hopefully service my needs adequately. I chose an ISP that had good reviews and was still relatively much smaller. A couple of months into it, I ran into an issue with my internet and called their help line. To my surprise, the person who picked up was one of the founders of the company. He assured me that he would fix the issue right away and apologized. Lo and behold, within a few minutes, it was fixed. This was such a refreshing experience for me in contrast to the horrifying ones I’ve had prior to it.

When you pick a marketing agency, the number one aspect you should focus on is whether they can provide a personalized service for your brand. Can you easily reach the top person of the agency and voice your concerns?

This is what I focus on at the forefront. Do my clients feel as if they’re being heard? Are their needs met in a timely manner? Do they receive my replies promptly? Do they have any pain points still lingering?

After all, I’m here to provide a service. And the better the service, the more my business grows. It’s a win-win for my clients and myself.
